About
Endless Sky is an open-source space trading and combat sim in the spirit of Escape Velocity. You start with a beat-up freighter, a little credit, and the whole galaxy in front of you. Make your fortune however you like: run cargo between rival economies, ferry passengers and colonists, mine asteroids, take bounty contracts on pirate captains, or sign on as a mercenary in a war and decide which side pays better. Every purchase changes your ship, and every ship changes what the galaxy lets you do. Hundreds of hand-authored star systems, planets with their own products, cultures and problems, and a long branching campaign that reacts to the pilot you became. Save anywhere; there is no wrong way to play.

Keyboard controls are fully remappable in the game's settings; combat difficulty scales gently with chosen ships and the game never forces a fight. The web build has no background music; sound effects are present. Ships, outfits and system info are all plain text.
